By plane
Genova has a small city airport with direct flights to major hubs such as Rome, Munich, Paris, Amsterdam and London STN, as well as other European cities (unfortunately Geneva is not included). Instructions to reach the city center from the Genova airport can be found here.
Alternatively you might consider flights landing in Pisa or Milan and reaching Genova by train.
By train
Genova has two main stations, both close to the city centre: Genova Piazza Principe and Genova Brignole.
These are connected by direct intercity trains to Milano Centrale (direct trains from Geneva), Torino and Pisa (1h45/2h).
More information can be found on the Trenitalia webpage.
By car
If you're coming from CERN, it’s a 400km (4h30/5h) drive.
In case you choose this option, we encourage you to contact your hotel in advance, as finding parking spots in the city center can be challanging.
Once you're in Genova
AMT runs public transport in Genova (buses, metro, funiculars, and lifts), as well as the airport bus "Volabus" and the ferry "Navebus". You can also buy a daily or weekly combined ticket to use on regional trains within the city boundaries.
