Present: JL, Matt, Francesco, Rui

  • Rui is working on preliminary cooling requirement for the target
  • Rui recalled cooling parameters and motivation (especially having a high pressure on the cooling system)
  • Francesco mentionned design pressure of the target system PN25
  • Control of spaliaton product need to be integrated in the cooling system
  • Hydrogen production and recombination system to be studied (dependant on type of target design) due to the beam interaction with the water
  • A helium circulation system is still required around the target to detect a target cooling failure
  • The helium vessel is being replaced by a vacuum vessel the helium puirification system is not any more required

CFD studies to be foreseen for the design of the target to be seen how this being adressed as EN-CV CFD team fully booked

The whole thermal power need to be defined including the experiment to define PIDs and to identifiy the way the facility will be supplied in term of water from CT2

Rui asked who is the EN-CV contact for the BDF T6 cooling skid - > Jani Lethinnen

Needs for the sumps to be studied

Need in term of compressed air to be adressed

Actions:

  • Rui to confirm target including proximity shielding cooling requirement
  • JL to provide maps of surface building and underground target area to define air volumes
  • JL to organize a discussion with RP for cooling and ventilation aspects (underground and surface)
  • Francesco to contact Richard Jacobsson & Francois Butin to discuss SHIP experiment cooling requirement (PC converter cooling requirements being discussed 13-4-2024)
  • Francesco to share the document presenting the outcome of the CV study performed during the BDF/SHIP CDS phase
