The year of 2024 is very special for Brazilian physics since it celebrates the centenary of César Lattes, one of the responsibles for the discovery of the meson pi, the 90 years of University of São Paulo, where Lattes got his physics degree, and the association of Brazil to CERN, exactly when the laboratory celebrates its 70th anniversary. The proposal of the Symposium is to gather researchers in high energies physics and the general public interested in the subject to look at the past in order to recognize achievements and thus plan the future. The first day of the event will be dedicated to discussions of general interest, especially the celebration of the 100th anniversary of César Lattes, a physicist formed in the early days of the University of São Paulo and which brings us to the celebration of its 90 years. This day will also feature discussions that include the future of high energy physics in Brazil and the recent association of the country to CERN. In the second and third days in the morning there is a greater focus on the history of high energy physics in Brazil, again celebrating the contributions of César Lattes and CERN's 70th anniversary. In the afternoon of these days, there will be meetings in smaller groups, organized by projects, and workshops for teachers, in which they will seek to discuss how to present the themes of the Symposium for High School Students.
The language of the event will be Portuguese and its main page can be found at: https://indico.ifsc.usp.br/e/lattes100anos
