Currency Exchange:
You can withdraw/exchange currency at the ATM at Kathmandu airport (https://airportbanking.com/kathmandu-tribhuvan-airport-ktm/). The commission rate at the Airport might be higher compared to other places like banks and ATMs in Thamel (near Shankar Hotel).
Travel from the airport to the venue:
Airport Shuttle by Shankar Hotel: The cost for this service is USD [25 by CAR and 35 by VAN] per trip. This can be added to your booking.
Airport Taxi: Once you step out of the arrival gate the pre-paid taxi service is on your right. If you wish to use this facility you can do so by paying in advance. The rates are made visible on the board.
Food:
Lunch and 2 coffee breaks per day and a conference dinner is included in the registration fee. There are also plenty of reasonably priced restaurants offering a wide variety of local cuisines as well as a range of international cuisines, including Indian, Chinese, Thai, and Western options.
Weather:
December in Kathmandu is quite pleasant. The days are warm and sunny, reaching temperatures around 20 degrees C. Night-time temperatures drop to around 10 degrees C, so please make sure to bring warm clothes and layers.
