Terms & Conditions
The ISOLDE Workshop and Users Meeting (the “Conference”) will be held at CERN, Geneva, Switzerland from 27th to 29th November 2024.
This event aims to bring together the present and prospective ISOLDE user community to review the status of the ISOLDE experimental programme and to discuss future plans and ideas.
The Conference will take place in the Council Chamber at CERN. Many of the thousands of physicists, scientists, engineers and students who make up the CERN community pass through this building daily. Poster sessions and coffee breaks will be organized in the same area.
1) Participation as a Delegate
Delegates should register their request to participate in the Conference through the ISOLDE Workshop Indico website (https://indico.cern.ch/event/1442908/).
A registration fee of 85 CHF per participant applies. Payment should be made within 14 days of registration, via credit card or bank transfer.
Participation is confirmed upon receipt of payment. Failure to pay by the due date may lead to exclusion from participation.
Cancellations must be communicated via e-mail to ISOLDE.User.Support@cern.ch. For cancellations received by 13th November 2024, CERN shall refund the registration fee minus any processing fees. Apart from exceptional circumstances to be decided by the conference organisers, no refund will be made for cancellations received after 13th November 2024, but delegates may designate a substitute to participate in their place.
2) Liability
Except in case of gross negligence on the part of the Conference organisers, all risks related to a delegate’s participation shall be borne by the delegate, who shall hold CERN, the Conference organisers, their members of personnel, agents and subcontractors free and harmless from all related liability.
3) Conference Cancellation
Except where due to force majeure or similar unforeseen event, in the unlikely event that the Conference is cancelled, all delegates will be refunded the registration fee paid. However, the Conference organisers will not be liable to compensate delegates for any other costs incurred by delegates in connection with such cancellation (e.g. pre-booked travel costs, accommodation, etc.).
4) Dispute Resolution
Any differences that may arise in relation to the ISOLDE Workshop and Users Meeting shall, in the first instance, be settled amicably by the parties acting in good faith. In the event that a dispute cannot be settled amicably, it shall be resolved by decision of the President of the CERN Council, whose decision shall be final and given effect by the disputing parties.
5) Data Protection
CERN collects and uses personal data related to people interacting with CERN in accordance with the Data Privacy Protection policy set out at: https://home.cern/data-privacy-protection-statement
6) Conduct
The CERN site is under the authority of the CERN Director General. All delegates shall comply with CERN’s rules and regulations concerning health, safety and the environment, as well as the CERN Code of Conduct, while participating in the Conference. Any failure to observe their requirements may result in the delegate being excluded from further participation in the Conference, including, where considered necessary by the CERN Director General, the revocation of their access to the CERN site.
