3rd WG4 General Meeting

The Meeting opened at 15:00 and closed at 15:35
The number of attendees peaked at 22.

Some updates about WG4 were presented:

• The sub-group and meeting organisation proposal presented at the last meeting was presented for discussion again, to give everyone a chance to give opinions. Comments are welcome. If there are no objections this organisation scheme will be used for the meetings going forwards.
  
  • The new categories are more oriented towards the research goals (RGs) of WG4
  • A compromise between EoIs and RGs, intended to cover the ongoing work and provide context in the larger DRD3 collaboration

 

Then we had a fruitful round-table

• Eunjin Choi (DESY) presented an overview about the TCAD and Allpix Squared simulation of square/hexagonal MAPS, with and without N-gap for future lepton colliders.
  • Ashutosh Bhardwaj asked:
    • whether TCAD simulations where 2D or 3D, and the answer was 3D, and
    • in the 3D framework, if the mesh spacing of the TCAD takes into account the doping concentration, and this is the case
• Simon Spannagel reported that a new patch version of Allpix Squared will be released soon (most likely this week), containing bug fixes performed over the summer months

 

The meetings will be held fortnightly for now, with the next one on the 16th of September, 3pm CERN time.
