Present in person: Adriana, Gunn, Alex Frassier, Alex Sinturel, Vincent, Todor, Yves, Alessio, C. Machado, William, Davide, Carlo, Yann, Lars, Nicolas, Caterina, Alejandro
Via zoom: Francois, Jose, Laurette, Ole
Adriana presentation:
- Adriana gave presentation, slides uploaded.
- With new LS3 schedule, and delay, we are less pressed in time
- Go/No-go criteria document needed to decide removal of current cooler
- No time and resources for doing full e-cooler test, but testing individual systems
- GO if all critical components are received, tested and fully validated, else No-GO
- Do we need detail on acceptance test and mechanical tolerences of gun/collector ?
- Corrector PSU not available in time so reuse old ones.
- Test the new cooler first with e-beam only
- Easter 2026 will have integration/review
- Risk analysis missing, when to go back to old cooler, reassure management to guarantee a cooler
Yves comment:
- Yves: You mentioned all elements will be tested individually but then you mentioned "full magnet system test" ?
- Adriana: the magnet system is one, and will need all together in assembly in order to measure the influence of one magnet on neighbouring element as well as to set the correction coil current during B-field measurement in the cooling region.
Francois Comment:
- Francois: For the vacuum acceptance test: will all equipments be tested before assembling ?
- Jose: yes every components. Jose said only leak testing is needed as all inner components knows and no big gas load expected
- Francois: Who is working on green H/V corrector in the ring adjascent to cooler ?
- Adriana: Jeremy is working on it, by end of Oct, send for MME design etc, Included new position of pump and valve
- Francois: H/V corrector double check where we are and status report
- WIlliam: design in good path
- Francois: Magnetic simulation of iron shields and their influence on neighbouring elements ?
- Adriana: yes, it is taken into account. In addition, Exp Solenoid back plane will need modification to fit the new e-gun
Comment on EPC power converters contribution:
- EPC power converter - any acceptance test needed ? At the moment is a black box,
- Yves: The converters will full fill the functional specs, we do have internal test documents and standard procedure.
Laurette comment:
- Laurette: If you get 6 months of delay, would you be able to test the full cooler before installing ?
- Adriana: no time, resources because magnets are delayed
William presentation:
- Design almost complete
- Mechanics ready by 2025
- EPC ready by 2026
- b283 or ISR tunnel chosen for first mounting of the support mechanics etc
- Almost full assembly !
- Pre-assembled parts bring to tunnel and install.
- Shield opening will need 1 week
- Decabling and then clean the area.
- E-cooler old parts save SY-BI (survey etc)
- EN-CV cooling water to check
- Marking of floor, girder position
- Optimise with Camille and Transport
- Install quads (Antony Newborough), different vacuum sector, leave shielding open
- 6 months estimated for full e-cooler installation
- Preassembly crucial
- No showstopper
- Start date not clear
- More detailed planning in 2025
Comments on William's presentation:
- Jose: missing bakeout and leak detection, 1 week not realistic, valves may leak
- Francois: Sit together for integrationa nd AD planning, extract magnets pretty early in LS3, different quads up/down steams, sit in front of general planning
- Yann Seriphin: b.283, only 2Tonn crane
- Yves: slide4, magnet in 1st quarter 2027, full powering etc. EPC power converter not mentioned in planning
- Yves: pretest in ISR - check AC power available in b283 ? Check with EN-EL
- Adriana: budget missing
- Francois: What about the crane ?, Catarina - there is not much to do, standard test with HSE
- LS3: might be busy and people may not be available (William), there might be delays
