    A major question is how many of these RF bypasses are needed in the PSB, and how many can be replaced by flanges in short circuit. It is clear that flanges in open circuit should be avoided, as it leads to large EMI to surrounding equipment (as is well reported in the ECR) and is believed to also lead to vacuum leaks.
    
    From impedance point of view, the smaller number of RF bypasses the better, but then a trade-off should be found with e.g. the beam optics and magnet requirements.
