Description

The report presents the results of a study on bioarchaeological material from the Nor Armavir burial complex, investigated using micro X-ray computed tomography and X-ray fluorescence analysis. The material was excavated in 2021 from Sector 3 (Levoni Aigi) by the archaeological expedition of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. The paper focuses on Individual #6, recovered from a burial dated to the 6th–5th centuries BC. The human remains belong to an adult male, estimated to have been 40–45 years old at the time of death. The application of advanced X-ray techniques enabled the identification and detailed characterization of a rare case of osteomyelitis in the tibia.
