Discussion about possible ECAL/HCAL in 2026

      ECAL could be commissioning for KEK beam line in May or June

      • Need to discuss Jianbei, May-June would be busy. Summer is preferred.
      • USTC takes care of local commissioning locally, then ship it to Japan?
      • Wataru mentions we need experts for electronics in person at KEK
      • Needs input: the earliest date for the shipment from USTC to Japan

       

      Veto system

      • Scintillator would not be a big problem.
      • How to combine trigger with HCAL. We can not use the current FASER logic.
      • Need inputs: the existing HCAL trigger logic, as well as ECAL one.
      • Allowed distance? Between detector and electronics. The cables are about 3 m.
        • Need to ask an electronics expert it could be extended. Also, their sizes.

       

      MISC

      • In-person: the end of February or 1st week of March? 
      • At EHN1, which is the commissioning area at CERN SPS area, the horizontal muon “beam” is available.
        • Though normally, test with cosmic

      DAQ readout/trigger material?

      Yasu’s talk

      • 110 MeV at the limitation for dynamic range
        • Yunlong will ask an engineer
      • Can choose the trigger plane and 4 trigger plane is due to DAQ board with 4 connectors
      • Brian suggested to compare both EM shower and electron neutrino energy reconstruction
      • Neutrino interaction happens everywhere. So it would be interesting to see if the fiducial cuts would work for Separation (maybe already neural network is doing something though).
      • ECAL would provide additional information for mu/electron with combining the FASER since it has a high granularity  and also can observe some hadronic components
      • On-axis: electron/muon neutrino with CEPC ECAL and 
      • Off-axis: AHCAL + another muon detector behind the AHCAL suggested by Brian?
        • Be able to identify muon neutrino more at the same eta range ?
        • 2026 would be difficult but maybe run4 era
