Heavy quarks, such as charm and beauty quarks, have long been regarded as among the most powerful probes for studying the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Over the past decade, advancements in experimental techniques have significantly enhanced our understanding of this medium. However, as our knowledge expands, it is becoming increasingly challenging to define the future direction. In this seminar, I will examine whether our initial expectations for heavy flavors have been met, highlight recent experimental results, and explore the key questions these studies aim to answer.
