Oxana Smirnova I Lund University
Dr. Oxana Smirnova is an Associate Professor at the Particle Physics division in Lund University, Sweden. She obtained Ph.D. in physics from Lund University, working with the DELPHI experiment at CERN on the subjects of fragmentation processes in QCD and multiparticle dynamics. She is now a member of the ATLAS collaboration at CERN, focussing on its distributed computing infrastructure and software optimisation. Oxana Smirnova is a member of the Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration, as a standing secretary to the Nordic Tier-1 data centre stakeholders group. She is also one of the original developers of the ARC software that is used to enable CERN data analysis and simulation workloads across the data centers worldwide.
Karin Lennebo I Lund University
Research administrator for the division of Particleand Nucelar Physics, administrator for the doctoral education and Lund University.
Sten Åstrand I Lund University
Particle physics PhD student in Lund, with a background in engineering physics, and a more remote background in music and creative arts. I have worked in electronics and embedded systems, but nowadays I mostly teach and learn physics and write Python code for, among other things, machine learning for physics analysis. I am a firm believer in discussion being the best way to build understanding, so please talk to me about physics, computing or indeed any other topic you are interested in!

Director
Kristina Gunne | CERN
Administrative Manager
Kristina is a member of the CERN IT Frontier Technologies and Initiatives group and joined the CSC team in January 2023 in the role of Administrative Manager. When Kristina came to CERN in 1996 working for the Swedish Science Council (supposedly for 6 months), she became involved in numerous outreach and teaching initiatives which she continued for 7 years. In 2004, she joined the Project Office of the EGEE EC project, dealing with over 90 partners around the world. She was Administrative manager of CERN openlab between 2011 and 2023 and she is now fully committed to openlab summer students, CSC and big events. Kristina studied Communication Science and Social Sciences at Lund University. In her spare time Kristina enjoys taking her e-bike for a ride in the mountains, travelling, cooking and spending time with friends and family.
Andrzej Nowicki | CERN
Technical Manager
Andrzej is a member of the CERN Database Team, specialising in Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL databases. With a passion for solving technical challenges and a commitment to sharing his knowledge of database systems, he makes valuable contributions to the team's objectives. Andrzej began his journey with CERN in 2020 and recently joined the CSC team in 2023. Prior to joining CERN, he gained experience working with various companies, where he actively contributed to numerous IT projects as a database administrator. He holds a MEng from Poznan University of Technology. Outside of his professional pursuits, Andrzej finds joy in exploring the world around him. He nurtures his adventurous spirit by travelling, hiking and skiing.
