Ashok Kumar

Dr. Ashok Kumar has been working in the CERN’s Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment since 2001. During his Ph.D. days, he participated and worked for the construction of Hadron Calorimeter modules for the CMS experiment. He had been part of the analysis strategy team which hunted for the Higgs Boson (popularly called “GOD particle”) in the CMS experiment. In the year 2008, he joined Delhi University and now working as Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astrophysics. During last few years and under his leadership, Delhi University has successfully fabricated and delivered good quality large size GEM detectors for the upgrade of the CMS experiment. Since year 2021, he is working as the Technical Coordinator of the CMS GEM project for constructing and installing upcoming GEM station for enhancing muon detection and further measurements in the CMS experiment.
Archie Sharma
I have been working at CERN since my PhD (2007) and during these many years in CMS, I worked on the various muon detectors (RPC, GEMs, currently in DTs). I have been with RWTH Aachen group since Nov. 2018, and started my work on Drift Tubes (DT) detectors during the LS2 phase. I have been the DT run coordinator for the last three years and work is mostly based at P5 activities. It has been a very useful training experience during LS2 and now the aim is to run the detector successfully during Run 3.
