Abstract

The high-voltage (HV) protection system plays a critical role in ensuring the safety of both personnel and equipment within the EN-EL HV network. Its dependability can be compromised by design and commissioning errors, as well as hardware failures. Over the past decade, a holistic approach has been implemented to enhance quality across all protection-related aspects, thereby improving overall reliability. This approach has led to the development of a well-structured and thoroughly documented framework that serves as the foundation for current and future improvements in HV protection standards.
