Description
The Spin Physics Detector (SPD) collaboration is preparing a universal detector for installation at the second interaction point of the Nuclotron-based Ion Collider fAcility (NICA). As the facility progresses and the physics research program evolves, the demands for advanced data processing capabilities increase. To meet these requirements, the SPD Software & Computing (S&C) project has been established.
The SPD S&C project encompasses a broad range of objectives:
- Defining and optimizing the experiment’s data model and processing
chains.
- Developing reliable, efficient, and maintainable software for
experimental data analysis.
- Building a sustainable data processing system for both online and
offline operations, along with robust data storage solutions.
- Implementing SPD-specific information systems and services.
This presentation provides an overview of the SPD S&C project’s structure and discusses the key IT challenges being addressed to support the SPD experiment.
