The VTRx+ module is a radiation-hard optical link transceiver developed by the Versatile Link Plus project for deployment in HL-LHC upgrades to experiments like CMS and ATLAS. Production has been ongoing for over two years, with manufacturing being done by an industrial partner. Once received at CERN, each lot goes through a multi-stage quality assurance process before being distributed to users. Proper alignment of the lens to the optical components on the module is crucial for good functionality; but it remains a challenge to define and measure. An outline of the quality assurance process and the results of an investigation into the effect of lens offset on optical parameters are presented.
