Travel information

CERN access

If you do not have a CERN access card, you will need to request a CERN visitor card to enter the site. Visitor cards must be requested in advance  via the CERN Service Portal, and you will be required to present a government-issued photo ID (such as a passport) along with your visitor card upon arrival.

Visitor cards are typically valid only for the duration of the workshop and must be visibly worn at all times while on site.

You can collect your visitor card at the CERN Community Support Centre (Building 33) or at designated terminals near the main entrances. It is recommended to print your visitor card at home before your visit if this option is available.

Getting to CERN

For those traveling from Geneva, public transport options include tram line 18 (get off at CERN) or buses 67 and 68 from France, which stop at the CERN entrance.

For more detailed information on travel, visitor cards, and site access, please visit the official CERN visitor information page.

Travel expenses

For those involved in the editing process, reimbursement of travel expenses can be provided by the FAIROS-HEP project.  Please indicate your past and planned involvement in the registration form and, after the registration approval, contact Mike Hildreth (mhildret@nd.edu) for information.
