Draft:

Present: William, Adriana, Emilien, Gunn, Carlotta, Teresa

Discussion:

  • Nicolas saw the Gun/COll Spec doc, he commented cooling water of gun if it is ON all the time
  • Cooling water stays ON all the time, it will be interlocked with High Voltage
  • Check Inconel - magnetic permeability and cathode poisoning
  • Teresa presented themal simulations
  • Ceramic brazing displacement with 250 deg C bakeout (use invar)
  • Bakeout - check with TE-VSC
  • Make 3 gun vacuum chambers, 2 with cooling water, one without cooling water for test stand
There are minutes attached to this event. Show them.

BI feedback on MME questions (Carlotta's notes-please check if ok):

      • For the cycling, consider 4 cycle per year. The cathode stays hot for long time unlesss power cut. No concern if we lose the power (outgassing level do not overcome limit of having convection)- cooling is considered uniform
      • Ok if the cathode get close during operation (~1mm)
      • No problem for plasticity during the bake out because done on the stand, the gun is then measured and calibrated
      • Cooling down from bake out very slow- no problem
      • Stress in the ceramic during cooling down from bake out-check possibility to reduce the bake-out T
