To be followed up:

  • which straws to use for the long 128-straw prototype - ideally Dubna or Sefar
  • need to keep track of parts during wiring
  • Minitubes crimp tubes
  • check that all holes for screws are present (fixation, support, tooling, ...) on the flanges of the long 128-straw prototype
  • tooling
  • vacuum tube recovery
  • plan and test how to replace a straw in the long prototype
  • find solution for HV connection of Lamina straws
  • work on a solution for metalization and cleaning of Ultem parts

Status presented at Straw WG meeting yesterday: https://indico.cern.ch/event/1582173/

      Short prototype:

      Johan:

      • new HV board will be ready in mid-September, Michal will bring it to the workshop

      Hans:

      • we should equip all 4 straws and use this prototype for testbeam

      Intermediate prototype:

      Hans:

      • Temur promised straws in October
      • we should wait with gluing straws

      Michal:

      • no news about endplugs
      • 2 Sefar and 2 Lamina straws can be used
      • we could use NA62 crimp tubes

      Long 124-straw prototype:

      Zuzana:

      • Minitubes crimp tubes delivery expected this week

      Hans:

      • ordered the tube for supporting tube through main workshop
      • contacted Euromec to ask for quote for machining the supporting tube
      • calculated HV board deflection (worst case scenario), one pillar in the center should be enough, will see more with simulation

      Vincent:

      • changed the gas manifold, both sides are the same
      • need to add holes for screws, 2cm apart - Peter should review it
      • gas connection is done - OK
      • added a few segments to protect the xy positioners and to simplify manipulation with the supporting tube
      • added a cone for spacer position verification
      • info: spacers are currently a little bit larger thatn the tube, so they need flexible ears
      • tooling - under study
      • guidance system - under study

      Peter:

      • needs a single file with straw positions, shape and size of the gas manifold for the HV board designer
      • not sure if there is enough space for electronics
      • if we only equip "a cross" of straws, there will be enough space to move a source along the tube
