Abstract:

Searching for New Physics in the Monophoton Final State at CMS The final state in which a high transverse momentum photon is produced in association with large missing transverse momentum is sensitive to a wide array of new phenomena, including large extra dimensions, dark matter production and anomalous standard model couplings of the Z to the photon. Results of studies carried out with this final state using the CMS detector and 5 fb^-1 of data, collected in the 2011 run are presented, and prospects for further work discussed.
