Abstract:
If a Higgs-like state is discovered at the LHC, a next task will be determining how its characteristics compare to those predicted in the SM. We can use data provided by the experimental collaborations in a novel way to reconstruct likelihoods and form accurate exclusions for general Higgs parameter spaces. Techniques like this will be crucial in understanding the sorts of models which might explain any newly observed particles, and can help to illuminate other new physics we might consequently anticipate finding at accessible scales.
