    IBDRS New irradiation point 2

    •The goal of the meeting is to see the opportunity (or not) to integrate a reservation for a potential irradiation point before the dump.
    •Stefano's presentation (see 3 last slides solutions 1 – 2 – 3 - 4)
     

    Discussions about solutions:

     

    •Solution 1: too expensive and not justifiable => discarded (but can be implemented in later long-term stage)
    •Solution 2: To be implemented into the dump enclosure if not degrading to much the shielding efficiency => to be simulated by RP
    •Solution 3: no anymore need of air ventilation flux around the dump (Edouard), no real need for endoscopy => to be discussed with Thierry if really needed for MEDICIS or if it can be replaced by solution 2 or 4.
    •Solution 4: can be implemented anytime in future if needed, even more easy if the future Frontend is suspended to the roof (accessibility with Telemax robot).
     
    General comments: 
    The “retour d’experience” shows poor interest in R2M at ISOLDE, no follow up in irradiations, no publications… and difficulty to know the absorbed dose due to  the versatility of the irradiations and ISOLDE targets.

     

    Conclusion:

    Add a groove into the front wall of the dump enclosure (solution 2), design of this grove shall be decided for RP simulations asap –> Edouard, Fabio -> if not validated this solution will be also discarded.
