Current run: Indium for CRIS
- Setup started after previous run.
- 2 first step used for optimal efficiency. 1 with tripled TiSa, 1 with doubled Dye. Setup smooth.
- Problem with the high power laser : thermocouple not working. Needed to open the laser and clean the connector. Laser was working again but the power was 2/3. We tried for the first time to open the cavity part of the laser to reoptimize.
- Setup of another high power laser to compensate. Timing needed to be adjusted to overlap beams in time and make the propagation safe.
- Finalized setup Monday morning: everything nominal.
Other:
- High power laser alternative is coming back from repair and will be installed in place of the Blaze next week.
- Replacement of the broken TiSa pump will be shipped to us and installed in the coming weeks. -

We are preparing the schedule for vacuum control activities at the ISOLDE complex during LS3. The main activity will be the consolidation of the PLCs at ISOLDE and REX, which will be carried out by my colleague Iker (in Cc). Since ISOLDE will not be operating during 2026, we would like to begin in March, taking advantage of the fact that all other machines will remain operational and, therefore, we will have more personnel and availability. During the consolidation (which will last approximately four months and end at the end of June 2026), the control system will be unavailable, and the sectors will remain under static vacuum. Based on this, do you have any activities planned during this period that might require the vacuum system to be available (e.g., balloon emptying)?
This is only a preliminary proposal. Once we receive your feedback and that of the vacuum operations team, we will provide you with a detailed schedule.
