        Last week:

        • Ra-224/225 collection for Germany/NPL, accordingly, happened last week and over the week-end.
          • 2nd Indian ThC charge
          • The collection has been retrieved yesterday morning.
          • ~29% Efficiency for Ra-225 - comparable to Fluka ThC.
        • We got an "extra" direct irradiation of #887M-ThC that gave 1E18 poT. (Thanks to Hanne and ISOLDE machine supervisors).
        • Fluka ThC carburization - took a bit longer than expected. Still on time.

         

        This week:

        • Fluka ThC loading and preparing for direct irradiation today
          • As previous weeks - whenever any pulses are available (H:-10 and V:-63 , 2 uA max)
        • The irradiation of #924M (SCK CEN ThO2) happened since yesterday and will be use for beam development at MEDICIS this week.
        • TaC-MWCNT target preparation for irradiation (next week)

        • wild goose chase of finding out who is able to remove the barriers infront of b.179 continues. people who performed the work a month ago said it is not theirs. a service desk tkt was made, this was forwarded to security, they responded saying it is not theirs. next steps, maybe make a request to send to recuperation?

        Targets, Schedule and Physics 10m

        Physics

        • It was a busy week so thanks a lot to everyone who made this possible. On GPS, collections and online measurements on GLM and GHM with multiple beams continued until Wednesday, followed by another shot on Monday. After more than a week of intermittently taking data, the solid-state teams went home satisfied, having addressed several physics cases ranging from quantum computing to nuclear clocks.
        • Also post-accelerated ¹⁹⁶Pb beams were delivered to ISS to study transfer reactions and the onset of shape coexistence around mid-shell neutron numbers, an experiment that concluded on Monday. Although there was an interruption due to issues with the post-accelerator, the RF experts intervened successfully, and the run then proceeded very smoothly over the weekend, collecting good statistics.

        - staircase opening postponed as handrail is missing: it’s a safety hazard.

        - It can't be opened to users nor to the public

        - The contractor has been slow to address the missing handrail non-conformity. If no satisfactory progress or update is received by the end of this week, we will proceed to install a temporary barrier to ensure safety and allow reopening by 17 November.

        • Please note that fire detection has been provided in the EN-CV Technical Room (170/3-401).

          Be mindful that spurious fire detection activations may occur, potentially affecting the Target Area Ventilation, if vapour, dust, or smoke (even sigarette smoke) is present within the room or surrounding areas.

          EN-CV is already aware of this; however, please ensure that all USERS are informed accordingly to prevent spurious alarms or system impacts.
