Survivor Organization. His Majesty the King Harald V has awarded Salbu the title Knight 1st class of the Royal Order of Saint Olav 2020.
Salbu’s scientific expertise includes nuclear/radiochemistry, analytical/environmental chemistry, and radioecology including impact and risk assessments. Salbu and co-workers have published more than 420 articles in int. peer review journals, supervised/co-supervised more than 130 students. She has "produced" 6 professors, has led/participated in more than 50 field expeditions in Norway and internationally, and has been member/chair of a series of national and international committees (e.g., NATO and IAEA).
