Description

The FASER detector at the LHC is a small, far-forward detector 480 m from the ATLAS IP1 that is capable of probing numerous BSM physics models. This talk presents the re-interpretation of FASER's 2024 search for axion-like particles (ALPs) with the addition of the 2024 Run 3 dataset. This search probes models including ALPs with coupling to the $SU(2)_L$ gauge boson, the PBC benchmark ALPs with coupling to photons, and a novel model which uses the LHC as a Light Shining through Wall experiment. The increased luminosity and development in signal selection improves sensitivity in previously unprobed regions of parameter space. Additional models that have similar decay signatures to the ALPs are also explored as well as future prospects of FASER and its planned upgrades.
