From IDS side there are no "major" projects that would be beyond are ordinary ones, i.e., we will have something of a similar scale to the current activity with the SPEDE detector but I don't believe this would impact other setups. One thing we will do is move the array to PSI next summer. For this we plan to disassemble the frame, as with PUMA in position we can no longer move the frame in and out of the HIE-ISOLDE area as a single piece (unless someone wants to make the doorway bigger?). This would need a little more space, and a manual crane, but I don't see that it would have significant impact on the rest of the hall or other setups.

No major modificationsREXTRAP/EBIS
1. If possible, I’d to perform some tests with the REX low-energy stage (Trap, BTS, EBIS and REX separator) from Feb until April. For that I need LHe, LN2, cooling water, controls and timing, PSUs. This point is not strictly necessary and may very well be skipped due to a general lack of time.-
In May-June I plan to exchange the collector at REXEBIS for a copy of the new collector tested at TwinEBIS. Need for assistance from technicians.
-
In the autumn of 2026 we’ll open REXTRAP for modifications of the injection orifice and to double-check dimensions as the idea is to produce an identical spare of the internal trapping structure. The work should be finished by late spring 2027. I plan to make use of Alexander Schmidt, fellow shared between EN-STI and BE-ABP, and EN-MME drawing office.

At some point during LS3, we need to modify the corner of the Faraday cage facing the Wizard setup. Need help from technicians, and scaffolding set up, unless I use my harness and crampons. Should not take more than 2 weeks.
-
Possible improvement of the vacuum in REX separator. I have found that we have significant back-streaming of gas from this sector into REXEBIS, and if TE-VSC is willing to perform improvements, any time during LS3 is suitable. Still need confirmation from the vacuum team if and when.

Finally, after opening REXTRAP and the exchange of the electron collector for REXEBIS, I need to make sure the REX low-energy system works again. This has to be done 6 months in advance of beam delivery, to give me time to revert to the old collector if necessary and/or find faults inside the REXTRAP trapping tubes. Can Erwin please remind me when beam is expected for the HIE-ISOLDE linac? For this I need LHe, LN2, cooling water, controls and timing, PSUs
