Readiness for installation of CDBs and associated components in UR15 - Meeting #2

A second meeting with all stakeolders to go into details of the CDBs installation on  1L.

General points

• The installation of the two first CDB groups is confirmed in UR15 Left.
• The preparatory works consisting in installing the beams for the power converters, false floors behind RQX and D1 power converters and the copper plates under RQX and D1 are postponed to a two weeks period per point to be rescheduled before the installation  of power converters. Action: D. Bozzini
• To ease the insertion of the WCC into CDBs, SY-EPC will deliver the CDBs without panels and doors which will be stored on surface by SY-EPC.
• Status and progress of ECR concerning the ultra-flexible cables to be defined by EN-EL. Procurement aspects with delivery dates of ACC ultra-flexible cables and associated supporting metallic structure to be reported to WP15 by week 44.  M. Marreiros

 

Structure and CDBs installation

• The start of installation works are expected is expected by week 45. This is linked to the reception at CERN of the metallic structures. Date of arrival to be confirmed as soon as known. Action: E. Coulot
• Only the CDBs receiving WCC will be installed. CDBs receiving ACC will not be installed at this stage to ease the insertion of WCC.
• SY-EPC will have to weld a metallic place on top of existing ducts closing plate for one position of the CEB supporting structure.

 

WCC supporting structure and insertion into CDBs

• EN-EL shall provide and install all supporting systems located on top of CDBs. The readiness of all components shall be confirmed by week 43. Action: M. Marreiros
• EN-EL will check and decide if they can get the insertion of the WCC done by Flohe subcontractor in the framework of the other works planned for the pulling of WCCs in the coming weeks. Insertion strategy to be cnofirmed by week 43 to WP15. Action: M. Marreiros.
• Methodology and procedure including the need of fix and/or mobile scaffoldings to be defined and communicated to WP15 and safety coordinator M. Bonnet Action: M. Marreiros.

 

CV hydraulic connectivity

• CV initially forecast to buy all hydraulic connectivity in one single order once all WCC, CDBs and PCs will be in place. This is not applicable because it would require that we wait till mid-2027.
• It has been agreed that CV will place an order for the Rotor variators and flexible pipes required for the internal connections inside L1 side CDBs. This will allow to validate the assembly Action: F. Dragoni
• Installation of rotor variators to be done before insertion of WCCs into CDBs. To be clarified between CV and EL who does what and when and keep WP15 informed by week 43. Action: F. Dragoni, M. Marreiros
