Achieving 100Gb transmission in newly designed radiation-hard photonic transceivers requires precise thermal control of micro-ring modulators (MRMs), which are highly sensitive to temperature variations. To maintain resonance, MRMs are tuned using integrated heaters and a closed-loop system with photodiode feedback. To support development of the SPRINT ASIC, which implements this control loop, a prototyping platform was built using FPGA and analog components. This enabled streamlined development through experimentation with a transmitter photonic integrated circuit (PIC) containing MRMs. ADC and DAC architectures were explored and optimized with a focus on dynamic range, noise, and alignment with the ASIC implementation. Following the exploration phase, a PCB with the final version of the ADC and DAC was designed and manufactured. The control loop is closed with a PID controller and is currently undergoing further refinement through stability and performance tuning.
