CERN has been working together with ABB in an R&D collaboration which has uncovered an impressive 17.4% energy-saving opportunity across 800 cooling and ventilation motors - enough to power more than 18,000 European homes.

CERN's energy-saving success can now be used to inspire other facilities and industries around the world to become more sustainable. Organized by CERN, in partnership with the Energy Efficiency Movement, a workshop on April 8, 2025, will examine how CERN’s cooling and ventilation blueprint can inspire more sustainable facilities.

Through keynotes, panels, and discussions, participants will:

·       Learn more about how facilities can be optimized for energy efficiency

·       Learn more about how CERN identified the impressive 17.4% energy-saving opportunity across its cooling and ventilation motors

·       Learn more about internal barriers to industrial energy efficiency and how to overcome them

The event will bring together cooling and ventilation experts, as well as energy, sustainability, operations/manufacturing, facilities, engineering, environmental health and safety, R&D and procurement/supply chain managers from industries and large scale research facilities.
