      • Pressure reducers on infor EAM?
        • Pressure regulators must be tested in Building 130/r-009 when they are received and whenever they have undergone a significant modification, such as a change of connectors or pressure gauges. After testing, the regulator is sealed and marked with the year of the last inspection.
        • European legislation does not require periodic inspections for pressure accessories, which includes pressure regulators. For this reason, they are not registered in Infor EAM for HSE periodic inspection tracking, unlike safety valves, pipework and pressure vessels.
        • However, it is strongly recommended that the equipment owner organises follow-up and monitoring of these regulators, as impacts, poor storage or incorrect use can damage them and create a safety risk for the user. If there is any doubt about their condition, testing is strongly recommended.

Title: Probing the nuclear magnetisation distribution using electronic and muonic atoms
Speaker: Jacinda Ginges (University of Queensland)
Abstract: Precision atomic and molecular searches for new physics are limited, to varying degrees, in their interpretation and discovery potential due to uncertainties in nuclear structure. New information on nuclear properties is sorely needed to benchmark and test nuclear and atomic structure theory. An effect that has gained increasing recognition recently in this regard is the contribution to the hyperfine structure arising from the finite distribution of nuclear magnetisation – the Bohr-Weisskopf effect. Providing insights into the magnetisation distribution itself is of further value still. In this seminar I will present some of our recent results on probes of the nuclear magnetisation distribution using electronic and muonic atoms. In particular, I show how we extract the nuclear polarisation contribution to the Bohr-Weisskopf effect in heavy muonic atoms, and how measurements of hyperfine structure in muonic atoms allow higher-order nuclear magnetisation moments to be extracted for the first time.
