Recently, we presented an extension of the CoLoRFulNNLO local subtraction framework for radiative contributions in higher-order calculations. Specifically, initial-state radiation has been regularized by introducing a relatively small number of counter-events and analytically integrable counterterms. A little over a year since the release of the proof-of-concept code NNLOCAL, which contains an implementation of this method, we discuss our ongoing efforts to transform it into a production-grade tool. In particular, we highlight recent and upcoming improvements designed to streamline its usability, facilitate its extensibility, and optimize its interfacing with external software frameworks.
