MINERvA Open Data Tutorial
A workshop on MINERvA's Open Data Product with a hands-on tutorial to reproduce a consistent result to a published MINERvA neutrino nucleus interaction cross section measurement. Can attend in person or via Zoom.
Please see one of the attached files (InformationforParticipants.txt) for more information about what is needed to participate.
There are three slide decks to read in advance. These were originally constructed for a MINERvA tutorial (called MINERvA 101) held across multiple days, then after an update used again for the tutorial event at Fermilab in March. We have one or two additional updates to get in. They explain the detectors in MINERvA as well as the importance behind and procedure to extract interaction cross sections.

and the wiki section for MINERvA101

And especially start here

And do the Prerequisites and Installation sections before arriving at the tutorial which includes downloading a portion of the data and setting up the basic software from which we will launch the tutorial.
Closer to the event we will circulate a zoom link to participants and also post a link to a live Google Doc for Q&A during the tutorial, especially from people connecting via zoom.
If you plan to attend in person at CERN and are not familiar with arrangements to gain access to the site and/or make a reservation at the on-site hotel, let us know and we can point you to them. We have NOT pre-booked rooms at the on-site hotel. Rik will be on site for an extra two days before and possibly a day after if you want to linger and ask more questions.
