The PulPoKS workshop is aimed at bringing together the pulsed power and accelerator injection systems communities to:
* Improve lines of communication between both new and experienced
Engineers in the field of pulsed power for particle accelerators;
* Share knowledge, experience and approaches to doing things;
* Share information about projects etc. which are being working on, including: obsolescence programs, upgrades, large procurements, new designs, R&D projects, etc.;
* Discuss future requirements of the pulsed power community and define what is needed from both universities and manufacturers.
The topics which will be addressed are:
* Gas discharge switches and replacements
* Solid-state switches and modulators
* Electro-magnetic compatibility (EMC)/noise suppression
* Magnetic materials and beam impedance control
* Kickers for injection and extraction systems
* Reliability, availability and maintenance
* Recent and planned upgrades/replacements (non R&D projects)
* Experience with manufacturers and material availability
* Electrical breakdown and insulation materials.
