Quick notes from the meeting:

1) Overall workplan: 

  • An abitraty "Gateway guides training" date will be added in Fall, as it will give us a target for the "elevator pitch" material. 
  • Claire will present the website and workplan to the CERN outreachers and ECO teams at the LOG meeting (March 20). 

 

2) Web site guided tour:

  • Timeline: request for changes from Patrick will be added in the coming days. Armin suggests to add an entry for the ECFA process (very important for the detectors R&D field) and the call for expressions of interest that were issued shortly before the strategy. 
  • Need to give a human touch: will be done via the news & portraits. Be carefull to balance ages, gender and situations (not all at CERN). 
  • Publication field: got filled with conference proceedings for now, as they contain fresh material ==> it is already very clear that without filtering tags the list is unusable. In the wordpress version we will need at least 1 tag per work package, plus a few general ones. 
  • International field: relies, for now, on the offical FCC web site [https://fcc.web.cern.ch/] which future is unclear. The new project office will have to take that up with CERN/ECO
  • Resources: matrix per target audience will be implemented asap in wordpress. Meanwhile will fill the (ugly) lists
  • Images: some of the ones integrated to the Feasibility study need to be in CDS
  • No social media: need to understand the FCC project office plans and push our material through

 

3) Elevator pitches:

  • Goal: 1 slide, 5 slides, 20 slides about FCC (all) and about PED (specific). Using the official template.
  • For longer lectures provide a set of links to good talks, with recordings (for inspiration) and slides (that can be stolen, with proper credits)
  • The material propose by Fabiola Gianotti is available on a web page, but not linked from the top menu (her request)
  • Will try to cover 2 out of the 3 offical target audiences: publics (are there are many types) and fellow scientists (idem, from HEP insiders to CERN guides and scientist from prher disciplines). The 3rd one (policy makers) belongs to CERN.

 

4) Future meetings:

  • keep the weekly, and push other groups out to get our room :-)
  • Make sure that Claire does not speak all the time (!)
  • People who are already in the list are invited to bring more colleagues. Call to the full FCC-PED will be sent around the June FCC week. 
  • Need a mattermost channel.
