Description

The study of spin correlations in the Higgs boson decay into two Z bosons provides a powerful approach to probing the Higgs boson's quantum state and investigating its interactions with Standard Model particles. We present the first study of quantum entanglement in Higgs boson decays. Data from the CMS Run 2 and Run 3 datasets are used, and the spin polarization density matrix for Higgs boson decays into Z bosons is measured for the first time. A search for CP violation in angular distributions and higher-spin helicity amplitudes is also presented. Implications for the measurement of the Bell-type inequality are discussed.
