1. Higgs Debrief
Post internal debrief document and list of coverage to the indico page ->action press office
Use of scientists in the room could have been improved. Next time, please send contact names earlier. ->action experiments

Feedback from IT that the chat room for scientists following the seminar remotely needs a moderator. -> action experiments

Lack of clarity over who organised the seminar led to problems regarding retransmission, security etc.

URL better than paper for this. Use of memory stick for background material?
CMS background material intended for use by scientists as prep for interviews and by more scientific journalists. For future events CMS will also make a simpler version for the public.
Report from CERN media monitoring supplier Glide is uploaded to the indico page. (as will all future reports from Glide to the press office) Feel free to make requests to James for what you would like to see in such reports.

2. Update on plans for famelab (Paola)
See famelab.ch for the Swiss timetable, including the semis to be held in the Globe on the 4th Feb.

3. News from DG-CO (James)
Streetview – difficulty stitching together tunnel images. There will be a demo ready to show next LOG. Max working with them to fix a new date
Would have been nice to know that the ATLAS press release was on its way before hearing it from the BBC. Please ask collaboration members to tell CERN and their funding agencies that news is coming.
Fundraising – Event on 19th Jan for philanthropists, including presentations of global plans for the entrance to CERN, communication plans and a visit of ATLAS.
4. News from PH-EDU (Rolf)
CERN council has approved choice of designer for new content at visit itineraries – Atelier Bruckner. New exhibitions at the CCC, SM18 and the Computer Centre.
Aim final design completed mid 2012, with overall completion end 2012/ first quarter 2013.
There will be upgrades to other visit points in the future.
5. ICHEP Melbourne (Dave)
Outreach plenary intervention on education and outreach planned for ICHEP Melbourne + parallel session + associated public events. These will possibly include ATLAS lego model built through collaboration between different school groups and masterclass(es?)
Renilde will attend to help run the press room. James has suggested AAAS model for press briefings.
Upcoming conferences with possible communication implications

Combination post Moriond? – to be discussed
Later, announcement at ICHEP if it coincides time-wise? otherwise we expect it to happen at CERN. Please keep the press office informed J

CMS – a fabulous calendar
LHCb – 1:1 image of detector to be installed near control room and 3D TV.
