How do cancer treatment and particle physics come together? Interested in how a cancer treatment plan is made? Then join our Particle Therapy MasterClass!

It's for everyone

• no medical background needed
• for all research groups
• of high interest for pupils at school since the combination of medicine and physics appeals to a lot of young people and offers new insights in future jobs

 

The Particle Therapy MasterClass 

• demonstrates the direct impact of fundamental research on medical applications
• allows participants to familiarise with the actual operation technique used for cancer treatment employing x-rays, protons or carbon ions
• A first idea can be given by a demo of a professional research software toolkit matRad showing the different steps for a treatment planning for cancer therapy. 

 

 We will present the Particle Therapy MasterClass online and in German on 16.06.26 from 13:00 to 14:00 pm.

• new materials in German for this masterclass
• A presentation, worksheets for pupils and an updated instruction for the installation of the matRad-programm are available.
• Share your experiences if you have already given a Particle Therapy MasterClass at your institute.
