POETIC XII, the twelfth edition of the international conference on Physics Opportunities at an Electron-Ion Collider, will be held from 15–19 February 2027 in Goa, India, continuing the well-established POETIC series. The conference is hosted by the Indian Institute of Technology Goa, Ponda, and will take place at the Bambolim Beach Resort, Goa, India.
The meeting will bring together the global community to discuss recent progress and future directions in EIC science, as the project advances toward realisation at Brookhaven National Laboratory in collaboration with Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility. The POETIC XII is taking place during a pivotal EIC era marked by rapid progress in detector realisation, software and computing development, and expanding international participation in the future EIC program, POETIC 2027 will provide a timely platform to strengthen global collaboration and shape the next phase of EIC science.
The role of POETIC 2027, as an EIC-era meeting occurring at an important stage of detector realization, software and computing development, and growing international participation in the future EIC program.
Key topics include the structure of nucleons and nuclei in Quantum Chromodynamics, with a strong focus on spin physics, such as the origin of the proton spin and spin–momentum correlations. The conference will also cover developments in jet physics, small-x dynamics, detector technologies, and computing, while fostering international collaboration and participation.
