Abstract:

Coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the discovery of High Temperature Superconductors (HTS), and with HTS co-discoverer Professor Georg Bednorz, IBM Research, Nobel Prize in Physics in 1987, in attendance, this event will showcase pioneering HTS applications in particle physics, fusion, industry and medicine. It will survey our current understanding of HTS, the path to room-temperature superconductors, and the potential of HTS to impact broader society.
