3rd TCT School organized by DRD3 will take place at CERN on 3-5 November 2026.

Contents

The school is aimed at PhD students and postdocs. The topics will cover different applications of Transient Current Technique (TCT) including:

  • SPA-TCT: single photon absorption TCT
  • TPA-TCT: two photon absorption TCT
  • Signal formation in TCT measurements

The main part of the course will consist of a half day theoretical plenary session and three half day hands-on lab sessions. The lab sessions will include data taking and analysis of the recorded data. A wrap-up session will be held on the last day. Participants will also be able to present their own TCT applications.

The program also includes a social dinner in Geneva.

Applications

Applications are open until Sunday 16 August 23:59. Due to the laboratory space constraints the number of participants is limited to 18 persons. In case of a larger number of applications, participants will be selected by the organizing committee through following criteria:

  • Based on the letter of motivation
  • One person per institute, more if space still available

A short letter of motivation (maximum half page, 250 words) should be included in the application. Let us know in advance if you need significant time for travel arrangements.
