The JILA Workshop on Precision Nuclear and Particle Physics with Quantum Sensors aims to bring together experimentalists and theorists that work with atoms, molecules, ions, antimatter, neutrons, electrons, photons, and other quantum systems to address fundamental questions in nuclear and particle physics. The goal of the workshop is to highlight and explore the landscape of how precision metrology and quantum control enable measurements of nuclear properties, fundamental constants, symmetry violation in the fundamental forces, and novel aspects of particle interactions.

Theoretical and experimental advances on new and increasingly complex quantum sensors will be emphasized, including nuclear clock technologies, radioactive atoms and molecules, cold molecular ions, and other emerging platforms. Technical advances in particle trapping, precision electromagnetic-field control, magnetometry, and laser technologies are also of interest.

The workshop will cover scientific topics where quantum sensing and precision metrology are used or envisioned for

  • high-precision studies of the electromagnetic structure of nuclei
  • searches for electric dipole moments and other signatures of CP violation
  • tests of parity violation
  • direct quantum control of nuclear degrees of freedom including nuclear clocks
  • measurements of fundamental constants and their possible variation
  • tests of CPT symmetry

Particular emphasis will be placed on recent experimental results and ongoing efforts, together with the theoretical developments needed to interpret and guide these measurements. The call for abstracts for contributed talks and posters on these topics is currently open and will close in early 2027.

Due to the limited number of spots that the venue and timetable can support, we encourage early registration.
