IOC+ACP2027 LOC Meeting

Summary of meeting

 

1. The recording of the meeting is here.
2. The LOC has been doing a lot of work preparing for ACP2027. This includes seeking and securing commitments, supports and endorsements from local institutes. We very much appreciate the dedication and efforts of LOC members. 
3. The date. We agreed that the LOC should consider 2 more options of date between July and September 2027, in addition to the October 2027 date that was presented. 
4. Venue: the LOC should decide on the venue considering the likelihood of a good participation from colleagues (students and faculties) from all of Zambia and neighboring countries. 
   1. Local support should prioritize increased local and regional participation
   2. Venue to be decided considering maximizing local attendance
5. We would like to finalize the poster and announce / advertise the event, and open registrations, before the end of 2026.  
6. The site visit by the IOC will be to review the logistics and suggest possible improvements before the event date. The date and venue to be decided well before the site visit. 
7. We meet again on Tuesday October 13 at 13:00 UTC. At that meeting, we want to:
   1. Decide on the date
   2. review the logistics at the venue and suggested lodging accommodations.
