The production of b quark pairs in association with a Z/gamma* boson was studied at the CMS experiment using pp collision data collected in 2011. The normalized production cross section as function of the B hadron angular separation is compared with QCD predictions at tree-level and NLO accuracy. The identification of displaced secondary vertices is made with no use of jets, which allows to...

A measurement of the Z/γ* + b(b) cross section is performed with the CMS detector in pp collissions at the LHC. The study has been done with a data sample from 2011 corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.1/fb.
The Z+bb and Z+b production rates are presented together with some of the key kinematic variables.
