Description
In this poster, $\pi^0$ and $\eta$ spectra in pp collisions at sqrt(s) = 7 TeV from the ALICE 2010 and 2011 runs (extended calorimeter acceptance) will be presented.
The neutral mesons are reconstructed via their two photon decay channel where both photons are measured with the ALICE EMCal. For the ALICE 2011 run both, minimum bias and EMCal triggered data, have been analyzed. A precise measurement of the production spectra requires a thorough understanding of the response of the ALICE EMCal. Details of the analysis are described, including comparisons of the EMCal response with Monte Carlo
simulations in terms of energy non-linearity and resolution as measured in test beam data. Corrections and associated systematic errors will be described.
