MSSM Higgs group kick-off meeting (20 Apr 2012)
Chaired by: Vickey, Trevor; Vazquez Acosta, Monica; Spira, Michael; Lehti, Sami;Flechl, Martin;
Dr. Slavich, Pietro; Harlander, Robert; Kraemer, Michael
Short term plan
---------------------
1) Redo the neutral Higgs cross sections at 8 TeV
Time-scale: 2 weeks.
* Start with a reduced grid of mass points:
115, 120, 125, 130, 140, 150, 160, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 600
* produce central value and scale uncertainties.
- ggH: Monica Vazquez
Redo the calculations based on HIGLU (b,top, interference terms) and GGH@NNLO (top-loop
corrections).
- bbH 4FS: Michael Spira & Michael Kraemer
Redo the calculations with private code.
The calculation of pdf uncertainties are very time consuming and the theoretical error is anyway
dominated by the scale uncertainty. One can calculate the relative pdf/alpha_s uncertainty based
on the LO 4FS predictions. This should be a reasonable estimate.
-bbH 5FS: Markus Warsinsky & Trevor Vickey
redo the calculations with BBH@NNLO
Once the 4FS and 5FS numbers are available the Santander-matched predictions will also be
provided.
- MSSM scan Trevor Vickey
Scan for mhmax and no-mixing scenario up to tanbeta=10.
Yukawa couplings are scaled using the same Feynhiggs version as used in YRI or a newer version
depending on the prompt feedback from the authors.
As last time, the deltabeta corrections will be included which is a good approximation in the two
scenarios considered so far. This is valid for tanbeta>= 10, up to large higgs masses and thanks to
the fact that SUSY particles should be heavy.
Include WW and gammagamma BR in the scan file to allow other channels to use our grids too.
2) Calculate the charged Higgs cross sections at 8 TeV
Time-scale: 1 month
* Start with a reduced grid of mass points:
180, 190, 200, 250, 300, 400, 500, 600
* produce central value and scale uncertainties.
- 5FS: Martin Flechl
* Obtain the cross sections with prospino.
Need to interact with Tilman Plehn to find a recipe to obtain the bottom, top and interference
terms separately as a function of M_H+. Then we can interface this to the current MSSM scan
machinery run by Trevor which interfaces to FeynHiggs couplings and masses.
The SUSY QCD corrections are included in this program but a careful choice of the scheme is
required. This issue needs to be further clarified.
Warning from M. Kraemer on the 5FS calculation:
The NLO scale dependence is rather peculiar and small, and the standard scale error estimate may
not be reliable. One should have a critical look at the scale setting procedure, following e.g. the
recent paper by Maltoni, Ridolfi and Ubiali (arXiv:1203.6393 [hep-ph]). Also the pdf uncertainty has
to be evaluated carefully, taking into account the b-mass dependence. M. Kraemer will look into
these issues and hopes to have results available on the time scale of one month.
- 4FS: Michael Spira and Michael Kraemer
The b, top and interference terms will be provided to re-use the current MSSM scanning machinery.
Long term plan
---------------------
- Include SUSY QCD corrections in a consistent way (excluding the deltabeta corrections which are
already included in the couplings). Pietro et al. should come up with a way of providing these
corrections in a consistent way to include in the current calculations.
* Clarification from P. Slavich:
Fortran routines for the approximate calculations of the top-stop-gluino and bottom-sbottom-gluino
contributions to the gluon-gluon->Higgs amplitude exist already. The issue is how to plug them
consistently in the codes such as HIGLU that compute the cross section. In particular, one issue is
the one-loop definition of the input parameters, which must also be consistent with the code that
computes the Higgs masses and mixing (in the present case, FeynHiggs).
This issue will be discussed during the CERN workshop.
- Include the EWK calculations in a consistent way, once these have been calculated in the MSSM
context.
- Setup the calculations for low tanbeta values, which needs to be done with care as the ttH
contribution cannot be neglected and the proper corrections need to be evaluated.
