Participants:
Doris Eckstein (UHH)
Marek Idzik (AGH)
Christian Joram (CERN)
Tilman Rohe (PSI)
Christian Schmidt (GSI)
Felix Sefkow (DESY)
Excused:
Pierluigi Campan (LNF)
Els Koffeman (Nikhef)
Marko Mikuz/Peter Krizan (JSI)
Summary (CJ)
1. Review of stage 1 evaluation (see document on INDICO page).
Conclusion: Very positive and encouraging assessment. Mentioned weaknesses
are qute minor. Our proposal seems on the right track.
2. Structure and contents of stage 2 proposal (see page 2 of document agenda++)
The proposed structure was discussed. The main elements are defined in the
guide for applicants and cannot be changed.
B6. on ethical issues needs to be added (straight forward in our case,
just a table).
3. Concretization of role of industrial partners
The industrial partners need to be re-contacted to get concrete information
on their possible training courses, (mini)-projects, internships etc. Companies
must also participate in network management.
Evatronix -> Marek Idzik
Mikron -> Michael Moll
Photonis -> Christian Joram
We need a 'letter of commitment' from each of the companies.
Draft letter will be available in 1 week from CERN MC steering group.
4. Forming an editing team
The stage-1 editing team did obviously a VERY good job. To spread the
work load on the whole network, a new editing team was formed:
Christian Schmidt and either Marko Mikuz or Peter Krizan will work on chapter
B4. Doris Eckstein and Els Koffeman will work on B5.
Christian Joram takes care of coordination and overall harmonization of
the document. At a later stage, once first drafts of B4 and B5 are available,
B1 - B3 will be updated.
Marek Idzik volunteered to help in the coming two weeks when needed.
All members of the editing team must carefully read the guide for applicants
(on the indico page). They should also scan through the stage 2 template
document which the CERN MC steering group produced.
5. Schedule of proposal preparation
The proposed schedule (page 3 of agenda++) was discussed and accepted.
Weekly phone meetings, default time Friday, 11:00. Documents should be
available the day before.
A real 'in-person' meeting of the editing team in about 2-3 weeks may be
an option (depending on progress).
6. Homework
See page 4 of document agenda++. Please stick to the deadline!
7. AOB
8. Date/time of next phone meeting
