MINLO: Multi-scale Improved NLO

In this talk we present a prescription for the assignment of renormalization and factorization scales in NLO calculations of processes with associated jet production. In practical terms the method is most simply understood as an NLO extension of the matrix element reweighting procedure applied in tree level matrix element-parton shower merging algorithms.
