Description
VRVS will be available from the "Boat" room
    • 10:00 AM 10:01 AM
      Introduction 1m
      Speaker: Jamie Shiers
      Slides
    • 10:02 AM 10:31 AM
Scope & scale of the challenge 29m
based on site feedback on resources for Feb (up to full reprocessing at sites with resources, possibility just read pass over all events with calibration db lookup for others)
      Speaker: Harry Renshall (CERN)
      Slides
    • 10:30 AM 11:00 AM
Storage requirements per VO / site 30m
We must conclude on the storage classes required by VO / Tier etc so that they can be implemented ready for testing (say starting from early January, when all experiments should have made the necessary modifications to use SRM v2.2 features) prior to the February challenge.

It is not mandatory to get the definitions 100% correct - February's exercise will allow for refinement for May and data taking later in the year.

      But we need to start...

    • 11:00 AM 11:45 AM
Review of functional blocks by VO - LHCb 45m
with emphasis on scaling factors - also for the critical services that each functional block exercises:

      1. CERN: data recording, processing, CAF, data export
      2. Tier-1s: data handling (import, mass-storage, export), processing, analysis
      3. Tier-2s: Data Analysis, Monte Carlo, data import and export
      Speaker: Nick Brook (LHCb)
      Slides
    • 11:45 AM 12:30 PM
Review of functional blocks by VO - CMS 45m
with emphasis on scaling factors - also for the critical services that each functional block exercises:

      1. CERN: data recording, processing, CAF, data export
      2. Tier-1s: data handling (import, mass-storage, export), processing, analysis
      3. Tier-2s: Data Analysis, Monte Carlo, data import and export
      Speaker: Matthias Kasemann (CMS)
      Slides
    • 12:30 PM 1:30 PM
      lunch break 1h
    • 1:30 PM 2:15 PM
Review of functional blocks by VO - ATLAS 45m
with emphasis on scaling factors - also for the critical services that each functional block exercises:

      1. CERN: data recording, processing, CAF, data export
      2. Tier-1s: data handling (import, mass-storage, export), processing, analysis
      3. Tier-2s: Data Analysis, Monte Carlo, data import and export
Speaker: Kors Bos (CERN & NIKHEF & ATLAS)
    • 2:15 PM 3:00 PM
Review of functional blocks by VO - ALICE 45m
with emphasis on scaling factors - also for the critical services that each functional block exercises:

      1. CERN: data recording, processing, CAF, data export
      2. Tier-1s: data handling (import, mass-storage, export), processing, analysis
      3. Tier-2s: Data Analysis, Monte Carlo, data import and export
      Speaker: Latchezar Betev
      Slides
    • 3:00 PM 3:30 PM
Plan and timeline for resolution of handling of spaces for recalled files 30m
    • 3:30 PM 4:00 PM
First discussions of the metric 30m
Gleaned from the scaling factors presented earlier in the day...
    • 4:00 PM 4:30 PM
      Monitoring, logging & reporting 30m
tracking the progress of the challenge (wikis, log-books, dashboards, other monitoring etc.)

There will be a session on this at the GDB. This session can eventually be squeezed if we need more discussion on the previous items.
