This is the 4th workshop of the kind, previous workshops were a GSI (2010) and CERN (2011) and Frankfurt (2012). Generally, these workshops are focused on event reconstruction and analysis in the High Level Trigger of modern experiments, especially those built for heavy-ion interactions by adapting the software to modern many-core CPU/GPU computer architectures.
Recent focii included
(a) the development of a core common package and common libraries and discussing a shared approach and strategy for track finding, event reconstruction, vertex finding whether primary or secondary as well as sharing ideas on novel approach to face the many-core CPU/GPU era
(b) forming a core project team gravitating around the use of the implementation and use of the Cellular Automata (CA) tracking in High Level Trigger (HLT) and offline reconstruction, discussing use and results from the KFParticles packages (vertex finding) as two possible common approaches
(c) promoting the use of vectorization via a common flexible and versatile interface helping to ease explicit vectorization of C++ code (Vector Class / Vc)
Acknowledgments
The workshop is supported by the CERN European Center for Nuclear Research and CERN OpenLab, the GSI Helmholtz Center for Heavy-Ion Research and the Helmholtz International Center for FAIR (HIC for FAIR), the Frankfurt Institute for Advanced Studies (FIAS), the Hessian Ministry for Science and Art, the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) in the USA.

Please make sure you book your housing ASAP as the CERN hostel as well as many hotels in the area often get fully booked. When asking for a network connectivity, please put Kristina Gunne IT-DI as your contact in the form. To be able to enter to the CERN site you need either a CERN badge or a visitor card. For those of you who are not registered at CERN, a visitor card will be available in the CERN reception, building 33, the day of your arrival. If you have any questions, please contact Kristina.GunneATcern.ch
